History

Contemporary Builders was started as nothing more than a summer job in 1992.  While studying construction engineering at North Dakota State University, Don Dabbert, Jr. and a fellow student decided to start a construction company.  In 1994, Don purchased all shares of the company and Contemporary Builders took a new direction.

Contemporary Builders evolved from building decks to remodeling to home building.  Today they are a luxury home builder, full service General Contractor specializing in all commercial projects, Electrical Contractor and Concrete Construction Contractor, with the newest addition of a Realty & Development Company.  They take great pride in their hands-on approach from the ground up.  Contemporary Builders has a full qualified Residential Designer on staff to help bring your personal vision to reality.  Her architectural training, coupled with attention to detail and creativity, ensure that all of our homes have a unique, personal touch.
 
As president of Contemporary Builders, Don believes strongly in contributing to the community.  Don received distinguished honors by receiving the “Builder of the Year Award” from both the North Dakota Association of Builders and the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead in 2000 and 2003.  In 2000, Don coordinated the construction of a home which was sold for the benefit of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Dakota.  In 2003, another home was built with the proceeds donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to the Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation.
